Spell-binding street performances from five continents set to wow audiences at Global Village

Dubai, UAE, March 14, 2022: Global Village is celebrating the International Day of Happiness all week long with its brand new Happiness Street Fest which features some of the world’s most talented street artists. From March 18 to 27, guests will experience high-energy entertainment on the streets of Global Village.
The UAE and the wider region's leading multicultural destination for culture, shopping, and entertainment has exciting plans in the pipeline for Happiness Street Fest, with an international line-up of extraordinary street acts from around the world and fireworks every night.

Jaki Ellenby, Executive Director, Marketing at Global Village said: “We pride ourselves on bringing the best of cultures from around the world to Dubai, which is why we’re thrilled to introduce the Happiness Street Fest to our event calendar. We have curated top performances from around the globe for our guests to enjoy. Street performance dates back to antiquity and is now an entertainment mainstay from Africa to Australia and from Europe to the Americas. We have searched the globe to find innovative and creative talents who have performed at popular destinations such as Covent Garden in London and, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, but never in the UAE. We look forward to creating memorable experiences for guests as they celebrate the International Day of Happiness in style while we do our part to make Dubai the happiest city on earth.”

Top-notch artists and performers from Spain, UK, Italy, Sweden, Argentina, Tanzania, Japan, India and Australia will showcase riotous acts including dance, circus arts, comedy, street theatre and more. Jaws will drop, minds will be blown, sides will ache with laughter and it will be smiles all round for Happiness Day.

Big Dance
Among the must-see acts is a signature roaming street performance by Spanish theatre company El Carromato featuring giant LED puppets performing choreographed dances with synchronized music. The “electro-energetic” performance will invite the audience to join the fun and dance in a wondrous street party.

Speed & Style
Award-winning Australian Fire Ninja Chris Blaze has performed in 24 countries and will astound audiences with his high energy fire manipulation show. Japan’s Herosan will spellbind crowds with his feats of strength, captivate them with his other-worldly balance skills, and tickle them with his outrageous humour and chopstick skills.

The ZUZU acrobats from Africa, inspired by 2000 years of Tanzanian history, will perform gravity-defying acrobatics, contortion, music and more.
Global Village is known for its cuisine, but never before has there been a kitchen like this one. Big Vic’s Kitchen, a one-man-band magic show from Sweden whose use of electronic devices and acoustic percussions in the shape of kitchen utensils will leave you totally mesmerized.

Live, Laugh, Love
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Diego Spano has been delighting audiences across the world with the unmissable “The Chaplin Show”. A timeless masterpiece of clown, mime and interactive comedy for the first time in Dubai at the Happiness Street Fest.
With bubbles, magic, puppetry and poetry, the “Bubble on Circus” is guaranteed to put smiles on the faces of Global Village guests. Also from Europe and performing at Global Village is The Giant Balloon Show. This UK act will have the audience in stitches with bubbly balloon sculptures, high energy comic performances and, of course, the all-important giant balloon!

Magic at the Heart of Wonder
As the incarnation of an Indian village magician, this street performer has taken his inspiration a group of gypsy magicians in northern India known as Madari. The Magic in India, will treat audiences to a colorful, energetic show of intrigue, suspense, mystique and humor that the whole family can enjoy.
Fun times at the Happiness Street Fest comes free with park admission tickets available for just AED 15 via the app or online or AED 20 at the gate.
