Greek Delegation Visit Union Coop

Visit aimed at establishing trade relations and learning about ‘Hydroponic Agriculture Mechanisms’ and latest technologies incorporated by the cooperative

Dubai, UAE:  Union Coop, the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE received a Greek delegation specialized in the retail trade sector from various Greek stores and hypermarkets, intending to learn about the latest technologies that the cooperative uses in supplying products and fulfilling vital needs of local markets for goods, in addition to exchanging experiences and innovative practices that it follows in the field of retailing.

The 15-person delegation was headed by Mr. Theodoros Vasilopoulos, Deputy Governor of the Region of Western Greece, and Dr. Lavrentios Vasileiadis, special advisor to the Governor of the Region of western Greece. They were received by Mr. Yaqoob Al Balooshi, Fresh Category Trade Dept. Manager, Mrs. Sana Gul - Trade Development Sec. Manager and Mr. MOHAMMAD ABBAS, Sr. Showroom Supervisor- Al Warqa Branch, Union Coop.

The delegation was given a detailed explanation during their tour of the Union Coop hypermarket branch at Al Warqa City Mall, about the most important services that Union Coop provides to consumers, in which it follows the best practices applied in the field of food retailing, delivery, customer happiness services, expansion strategies and digital solutions for retail, in addition to updating them of information about the culture of retail trade in the Union Coop. Furthermore, the delegation was educated about hydroponics and the ways the Union Farm located in Al Warqa City Mall ‘Union Coop’ branch is maintained. The experts from Union Coop answered all queries from the delegation and prospective commercial cooperation between the two parties was discussed.

In turn, the visiting delegation praised the services the cooperative provides to consumers, and the practices followed in the field of retail trade and accompanying services of international standards. They also thanked Union Coop, represented by its various divisions, departments and employees, for the kind reception, and for allowing them to see the best services provided, work and delivery mechanisms, modern technologies used in trade, promotions, and products display method in the showroom according to an organized vision that attracts shoppers.
