Eco-Living Made Easier with LG’s ThinQ Smart Technology

DUBAI, UAE - 21 APRIL 2022 –
Earth Day is the most considerate time to go green and consider a sustainable living. Smart home technology can make anyone’s sustainable journey easier, helping to save electricity, water consumption and shrinking their energy footprint. Going beyond energy conservation, LG Electronics (LG) smart home platform, LG ThinQ, is introducing a variety of new eco-minded features to help guide people on a greener path.

Smarter Entertainment for All
Instead of re-purchasing and throwing out a number of wasteful electronics over the years, look closer at the ways that the home entertainment set up can be more eco-friendly. This can include reducing e-waste or purchasing electronics with sustainable materials and packaging.  LG QNED recognizes the importance of eco-issues, and promotes environmental awareness and protection as well. That’s why the new LG QNED box is now made with less ink and is fully recyclable. What’s more, LG ThinQ allows simple command and control of the Home IoT ecosystem with natural voice recognition, so users can control the LG QNED with their voice to access entertainment faster. As the ultimate evolution of LCD TV technology in 4K Ultra HD, homeowners can enjoy enhanced brightness, near-perfect black, and brilliant color on a stunning ultra-big screen while also contributing to eco-friendly practices.

Energy-saving Made Easy
Saving energy at home becomes far simpler with the help of the LG ThinQ app and its intelligent features, which help to effortlessly optimize the energy efficiency of home appliances. The app even takes usage patterns into consideration – for instance, it can adjust the refrigerator’s power consumption to the lowest level during nighttime hours, when people are less likely to be opening and shutting the fridge door.
Remote monitoring and control features also help reduce unnecessary electricity use. For instance, if someone has locked the front door and set off for a much-needed vacation, but has forgotten to turn off one of the appliances. With the LG ThinQ app, they can simply check the status of all appliances, then turn off whichever one they’ve left running.

Protecting the Earth in Everyday Life
The LG ThinQ app provides some well-thought-out answers with features such as the food expiration date alert. These helpful alerts can significantly reduce the likelihood of perfectly good food going to waste – which is good for the planet and household grocery spending. Moreover, if anyone still hasn’t gotten around to using a particular ingredient by the time its best-by date is imminent, the app will send them a convenient notification right to their smartphone. This will give users enough time to plan ahead and have not only a more sustainable lifestyle, but an efficient one too.
Moving from the kitchen to the laundry, the LG ThinQ app offers a handy cycle-recommendation feature that ensures clean clothes without any waste of water or detergent. After the company’s washer has determined the fabric-type and weight of the load, the app suggests the optimal cycle for the job – one that uses only what is needed to deliver the best results for your laundry, and for the environment also.

Extending the Lifespan of Home Appliances
Keeping appliances in good working order will not only extend their lifespan but will save money in the long run. On top of that, it can also help prevent excessive power consumption during operation, making it a truly worthwhile goal for any household. Plus, taking good care of appliances means there’ll be less overtaxing on the world’s recycling plants as well –because the longer the lifecycle of appliances, the longer till they end up in a landfill. Designed to support users in taking better care of their LG home appliances, the ThinQ app’s Smart Diagnosis feature makes it possible to conduct quick checkups to ensure that everything is functioning as intended. In addition to preventative care, the app provides reminders when it’s time to replace a product’s filters.
