
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi Wins Third Place at the Arabia CSR Award
Abu Dhabi, 24 October 2023: The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) won the second runner up at the Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards, in the category of Large Public Sector institutions, in recognition of its achievements in this field.
This came during the closing ceremony of the 16th cycle of Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility Network (ACSN) that was held on October 2nd 2023 with a remarkable participation of entities and institutions.
Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary General of EAD, on this occasion said: “EAD is honoured to have taken third place atthe Arabia Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award after competing against 155 entities from 12 different countries. The award crowns EAD’s efforts and continuous work in the field of social responsibility, and values the Agency’s initiatives, activities and projects which we implement to enhance the environment and the quality of life for Abu Dhabi residents and improve community happiness. We take into consideration that EAD always aligns its strategy and plans with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
She added: “This achievement reflects EAD’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and our commitment to making a positive impact on society. The Arabia CSR Awards recognise organisations that have demonstrated exemplary initiatives and contributions towards social betterment, sustainability, and community development. As we know, the award is highly regarded around the world for its quality, standards and rigor. By seamlessly weaving global standards into the context of sustainability in the Arab region, and we are proud to be recognised for our work in these areas.”
She elaborated: “This award also reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment and dedication towards CSR, which we believe is a duty on our part to give back to our community. We believe in addressing the concerns of the community and in exerting continuous efforts to protect the environment and manage our resources, while working towards achieving sustainable development and balancing the economic prosperity of the emirate. The award is considered a motivation for EAD and all other entities to continue dedicating more efforts towards all areas of social responsibility”
