
Milrem Robotics Expands Global Operations with Opening of Abu Dhabi Office
- Establishing a physical office in Abu Dhabi, will enableMilrem Robotics to grow regional presence and accelerate the adoption of robotics technology.
Abu Dhabi-UAE: 5 June, 2024 – EDGE entity, Milrem Robotics, the world-leading robotics and autonomous systems developer, announces the establishment of its Abu Dhabi office, strategically positioned to support local customers and capitalise on the growing tech landscape of the region.
The new office in Abu Dhabi will serve as a centre of excellence in the UAE, providing a central location for R&D, product development and strategic collaborations with government entities, academic institutions and local businesses. It will also lead the delivery of the company’s contract with the UAE Ministry of Defence, under which Milrem Robotics will supply the armed forces with tracked robotic combat vehicles (RCVs) and THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). The agreement, signed in January 2024, represents the world's largest combat robotics programme.
Milrem Robotics will lead an experimentation and trial programme aimed at integrating unmanned ground capabilities into the UAE Armed Forces’ arsenal. This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing the Armed Forces’ combat capabilities by deploying THeMIS UGVs and tracked RCVs equipped with advanced autonomy features, third-party payloads and high-quality communication solutions.
