Abu Dhabi Entertainment Company Hosts UAE Special Olympics Bowling Event Featuring more than 100 People of Determination
Activities were held at Zayed Sports City, managed by ADEC
Abu Dhabi, UAE, 20 June 2024: Abu Dhabi Entertainment Company (ADEC), a leading sport, leisure, and entertainment company, proudly hosted bowling activities for more than 100 People of Determination as part of the inaugural Special Olympics UAE Games. The event, which was one of six sports offered at the celebration, was held recently at Khalifa International Bowling Centre at Zayed Sports City.
Across the three days, 105 athletes representing 13 clubs and centers descended upon Zayed Sports City, joining the festival of more than 600 athletes participating in the games at sites across the city. Cheered on by a crowd of fervent supporters, the event offered an opportunity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to build relationships and celebrate their dedication and teamwork.
Noura Al Hammadi, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Entertainment Company, said: “We congratulate all of the athletes who participated in the UAE Games, as well as their supporters and the staff and volunteers who made this event so memorable. In addition to participating in events held by the UAE Special Olympics, assets under Abu Dhabi Entertainment Company further engage with People of Determination through its coaching arm, Zayed Sports Academy, to offer inclusive and specialty courses. The organization also hosts regular activities for underserved populations through entities such as Zayed Higher Organization and the Mubadala Foundation.
