ABU DHABI, UAE – June 22, 2024: The Etihad Arena on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island was lit up in green last night to celebrate a record 18th NBA championship title for the Boston Celtics, who will compete in the UAE capital this October as part of the NBA Abu Dhabi Games 2024 presented by ADQ.

The Etihad Arena acknowledgement coincided with the Celtics' victory parade celebrations in the franchise’s home state of Massachusetts, which featured a rolling rally parade of duck boats.

The NBA and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) confirmed earlier this year that the Celtics will take on 2023 champions, the Denver Nuggets, in the UAE capital. The preseason games are scheduled to take place on Friday, October 4, and Sunday, October 6, at the Etihad Arena, with tickets available now on etihadarena.ae & ticketmaster.ae.
