Over 1,000 Runners Gather on Yas Island for Miral Pink Run for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The community initiative was organised in partnership with Abu Dhabi Sports Council

Abu Dhabi, UAE — 29 October 2024 — Over 1,000 runners assembled on Yas Island, at Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, for the inaugural Miral Pink Run to raise awareness about breast cancer, promote the importance of early detection and prevention, as well as honour the resilience of those affected by the disease.

Organised by Miral, the leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences in Abu Dhabi, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the resounding success of the initiative reflects Miral's commitment to community health and wellness in line with its Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. HE Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, signalled the start the race, while also participating in the run itself.

“The Miral Pink Run stands as a powerful symbol of resilience and hope and serves as a pivotal platform to raise vital awareness about breast cancer, a disease that has profoundly touched millions of families around the world,” said Taghrid Alsaeed, Executive Director of Marketing, Communications & Events at Miral. “It’s deeply inspiring to witness the unity of our community, coming together for this critical cause. Our commitment to our community runs deep and is an integral part of our business and CSR Strategy.”

Miral Pink Run saw participants of all ages and fitness levels take on 1 km, 3km and 5km races. Following the races, participants received finisher’s medals and enjoyed post-race refreshments and entertainment.

His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at Abu Dhabi Sports Council, emphasised the race’s objectives in raising community awareness of the importance of early detection and ways to prevent cancer. He elaborated that Miral Pink Run not only contributed to raising awareness, but also encouraged all members of the community to engage in sporting activities to enhance public health and prevent many diseases. He added that such events play a major role in strengthening social ties, reflecting the spirit of cooperation and solidarity when faced with health-related challenges.

The Miral Pink Run is one of several impactful initiatives organised by Miral in line with its CSR Strategy. It underscores its efforts to actively engage the community while promoting social responsibility and community engagement.
